You might remember this Grow with Me family from a maternity session a bit ago. Expecting a baby girl, and big brother was so excited to meet her. And I couldn’t wait either…thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long. And when I arrived, big brother didn’t disappoint. He was happy to see me and excited to show off his baby sister. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to involve the siblings at the newborn shoot. It is all a bit overwhelming anyway and the newness of a baby can sometimes complicate things. But this guy took it all in stride, and was excited to take part. He loved telling her secrets about his favorite things (the Blaze kids TV show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and sing songs to her. It was amazingly sweet.
Mom and Dad were in that tired, happy place. So excited to finally have their family of 4, and all the while going through the motions of having a new little one in the house. But having me their gave everyone an excuse to be together and laugh, which is something I always love. It was fabulous to even get the grandparents in the mix too, I love when the extended family makes and appearance.
This little girl never really slept for me. The last 10 minutes was all. But that is the beauty of photographing a lifestyle newborn at home – you can either wait it out in the comfort of your own 4 walls or just revel in getting that glorious eye contact as long as the baby is content – which she WAS!
