I love when a session has no plan. Well, let me re-phrase. I love when the only goal for the session is 1 family picture. The rest? Can take care of itself. And you know what is magical about that? It usually does.
Mom contacted me awhile ago to photograph her family. She really wanted something at the shore, and all she really wanted was a family picture. And it didn’t have to be perfect. It just had to be perfect for them. Which as a photographer basically means to capture them as they are…loving on each other, laughing, and getting the kids personalities to shine through.
The actual night of the session was gorgeous. So gorgeous in fact that the beach was packed to the brim, still, at 7pm. So we had to get creative in where we shot, because part of letting kids be kids is giving them the freedom to run! So with a little creative framing and a whole lot of silliness, I left the beach sandy and happy – knowing that I had some gems.
