Letters to our Children
Welcome to another installment of the monthly blog circle, ‘Letters to our Children’. My letter this month is for monkey boy.
Dear A,
A big month for you my little man. Your world got a little bit rocked these past few weeks. You started school. We started a Mommy {and sometimes Daddy} and Me gymnastics class. You are learning a lot about rules, routines, and play time on other people’s terms, and sometimes you just. don’t. like. it.
You seem to really like school. Your teachers tell me you talk up a storm, and are very happy when you are there. That makes me really happy! I’m not sure if you are sitting for any appreciable seconds during circle time, or if you are sharing, but I would imagine that you are doing what they expect you to do. Gymnastics is so much fun for you, and so frustrating at the same time. You are so good at all the obstacles and fun tasks. So we end up having to wait our turn. A lot. And you hate waiting almost as much as bananas. Maybe more. The first few weeks were hard, but you are getting better each time.
You are giving awesome hugs and kisses lately. You are learning to say I love you, Elephant, wolf, turtle, and so many new words.
And you are testing me every single day. You want to do your own thing, all the time. But we have some fun adventures, you and I, even when you give me your little attitude, or pretend to walk away 🙂
You always come back for your hugs….
