When the weather finally starts to turn to spring, especially after the long winter that we have had here on the East Coast, I feel like all photographers collectively sigh. Sometimes shooting inside all winter can start to take its toll. And to me, what better way to say hello to spring than with a beautiful mommy to be. This mom contacted me with just a few weeks left until her due date. Maternity photos can be taken at any time really, once there is a bump to showcase. Most photographers will suggest doing the photos around 7 months, but that is oftentimes not possible. And you know what? It matters not. Case in point:

The light was amazing too.
I just adore belly shots.
She was absolutely glowing the excitement the entire time I photographed her. It didn’t seem to matter that the wind was going crazy that day, or she barely had much on when we were draping the fabric around her. All she could think about was showing her hubby the photos, and the baby boy that will be making an appearance soon.
The wind that day was insane, but really added some drama.
I love to do a few different looks for maternity. Sometimes Dad to be is involved, but when he is not it is very helpful to have a location with a bit of variety, and be able to incorporate a few different styles into the session. She wanted to feel beautiful…and I think we achieved that because every image of her was absolutely amazing.
