Cake smashes are such a fun way to commemorate a first birthday. I love doing this indoors or out, and usually families pair the smash with an excuse to get some updated portraits. The cake smashes typically go either way…some kids love the cake and some won’t even touch it or even start crying. I document it all, because they are all memories to be treasured!
We started the session off in the gardens. Despite the clouds, the colors were to die for and this family was up for anything! And I love and treasure how much love big sister had for her little sibling. And then we moved on to a few of the birthday girl alone, and finally back to my home studio for some cake. And let me tell you…this little girl couldn’t get enough. To the point where she was shoving her face into it. Now THAT’S how you do the cake.
