It is such a pleasure and honor to teach. To be able to share what I’ve learned and help another fellow mom who aspires to follow her dream and open up her own business. I think about all those hours I spent a long time ago trying to learn my camera, and all those mistakes I made along the way. It is so much fun to be on the other side of it, but I think giving back is important.
I put out the model call for a family to help me with the shooting part of my mentoring package. I invite the mentee to shoot side by side with me, and while we have fun hanging out with the kids, I’m helping her to understand my reasoning, gear choice, my tips and secrets for different lighting, etc. I was so happy when the {L} family decided to answer the request. I love photographing them, and the kids know me, so that makes the shoot even more fun…and more relaxed.
