The pre-teen and tween years are definitely not photographed as much as the younger years. The milestones are fewer and farther between, and this age is often stuck between losing teeth and braces. And I’m the first to admit that my 8 year old is less than thrilled when I pull out my camera on her nowadays.
The vibe of these photo sessions are often slower and more relaxed. And I love that. I love chatting with the family about their interests, why they selected a certain location, and the reason for getting pictures done. Sometimes the reasons surprise me. But I always love when it involves more than just capture a family photo for the holiday card. Because the kids will love looking back on these and seeing you in them at this age.
