While I’m not from New Jersey, there are many of my clients who are born and raised here. And even if they move away, they always come back and get together with all the family! Whether it be a vacation at the Jersey Shore or a birthday party, I love tagging along and photograph the crew. And sometimes, the crew is a LOT of people.
Extended family photo sessions can be tricky. Of course you have the challenge of posing and lighting the entire family. If there are small kids, you have to be quick! If the location isn’t already set out for you, there are definitely location considerations to a large group. A place that doesn’t involve a ton of walking, is scenic in all kinds of weather, and makes sense for the scale and vision for your family.
I have photographed this family many, many times. I’m always there for the kids birthday parties, the newborn photo sessions, and family updates. It was so much fun to do something a bit more formal. And of course there are always in between moments that are so fun to capture.
