What Kind of Client Are You? NJ Family and Event Photographer

Summer is here!  I have not yet had the chance to properly blog a bunch pretty much every spring session, so I thought I would combine them into one post.  Each client had a unique vision for the shoot, which makes for some great discussion.

Oftentimes clients have an idea of their needs when I receive an inquiry.  Which client sounds like you?

  • I have many clients who want some amazing wall art, and have particular spots in their home for the photographs.  We work together to choose location, color palette, and even some posing to ensure that their needs are met.  Once our session is done, if a client needs some help choosing a layout for the images in their space, I can use software to create different looks.  This can be incredibly useful for clients who need to ‘see’ it first.  And 90% of the time, they order a larger size print.
  • I also have clients who want me to come into their homes and photograph them in their own space.  Home is where the heart is, and the images have a very personal meaning to them when they can look back on the kids within the home.  I adore shooting in client homes, I love the challenge of lighting and space and adore finding pockets of light.  Children seem very at ease with me in that space.  They love taking an active role in showing me around and playing with me in their element.  I’m part of the crew.
  • Grow with Me clients…I see these clients 4 times during the baby’s first year and I absolutely love watching them grow and change.  Not just the baby, but the family too.  Parents get more comfortable and siblings start to embrace the family more and more.  We end the year with an heirloom album, I love it.
  • Finally, I have clients who want all of the images, they just want me to capture their children as they are at this point in time.  These clients like a few more formal photos, some that Grandma would put on her wall, and might also want to document important milestones in their children’s lives.

I don’t have a favorite.  I love them all.  Each client has a story to tell, and it is my job to find that story and document it.  In the end, it is all about creating and solidifying the memories for my client that make this a fabulous ‘job’.  Someone pinch me please.

I give you what my spring has looked like…from the clients who gave permission to post.  Are you in the monster post?  If you make it all the way to the end, thank you.  ♥
