I have written on the blog a few times this year about families that come to me for their first photo shoot….ever. Many times, Mom and Dad will say that they haven’t been photographed since their wedding, and they really don’t have any photos of them with their kids. I usually hear…I just need one. And it doesn’t have to be perfect.
I am always very aware that I have a unique job when I get together with a client. It isn’t a hard one, when you love what you do. But it is important. Capture love. Capture laughter. Work around little toddlers who cry, really become friends with the kids and let them know that this will be fun, and that they have a say in what we do too. Posing is secondary. Even location can be less important, but it always helps to have a location that means something.
This family was such a joy. We had a chilly morning at Princeton…in nooks all to ourselves sometimes! And with the holidays coming up, I was just so thrilled to capture this family as real and loving as I could.
Enjoy your sneak peek {M} family, can’t wait to show you the rest! xo, Jen
