Day 234
{August Letter}
Of course with the miss starting kindergarten in just a few short weeks, this month’s letter needed to be for her. Read on, and if you have a little one heading off to a new adventure come school time, you might want some tissues. Like me. Weep Read on…and when you are done, please check out the next letter in our circle, from Jessica Gwozdz Photography.
Dear E,
Kindergarten.
You have no idea what a milestone this is, but I do. I know it stands for how far you have come…how proud we are of you…how smart you are…and how I don’t want you to go.
There I said it.
There are so many reason why, but no good ones. It’s a long day, will you know how much I miss you? You have to eat lunch without me telling you to eat up that it will make you strong and have energy, will you hear my voice in your head? Or is it better that you don’t and that you learn it on your own? Will recess with 100 kids on the playground be overwhelming for you, will you remember to watch around the swings for other kids so you don’t get hit? Will you remember that it is ok if you don’t know something, that you can always ask for help?
The answers aren’t there just yet. But there is one thing that I know. I know that you are a brave little girl who is getting more independent every day. And I know that you are so smart, and ready for this challenge…you want it. So, I have to give it to you. But don’t mistake me not wanting you to go as I don’t believe in you. Don’t you ever think that. To the contrary, I will champion you and cheer you on until the end of me.
Just be careful, ok?
Love you more, Mommy
Want to join me? This is a great way to not only document your family, and your life…but also to get creative and take better pictures. I resolve this year to be more present, in the moment, and grateful for what I have. And take better care of myself. Come on, what do you have do lose?
