A bar or bat mitzvah is such an important time in a young man or woman’s life….signifying becoming a Jewish adult. It is a once in a lifetime occasion, and families work very hard to make sure that the celebration is memorable! One way to ensure that no one will forget the fun party would be to focus on making the activities and favors as unique and fun as possible. Here are some ideas to keep in mind when you are in the planning phase for some amazing activities and party favors for your child’s honored guests.
FUN ACTIVITIES
Jumbo Jenga
Most young adults have heard of this game, but it is likely they have played the small version that sits on top of a table. There is a more interesting option that is pretty exciting and more interactive. There are jumbo-sized Jenga blocks available. They are a bit more sturdy, so they do not fall as easily. In addition, the blocks are so large that it is easier for more players to interact without being crowded into a small space.
Extra Large Foosball and Other Arcade Games
If you are having a portion of the party outdoors, being games like Jenga, Bean Bag toss, Foosball, basketball and other fun arcade games can help keep the kids entertained. Especially those kids whose friends are big into the dancing.
Photo Booth
A must have for every event. The kids love it because they can scrapbook the pictures, or get the images right to their social media. Having the logo and various props make visiting the booth time and time again with different groups a blast. The adults love the chance to gather their friends and family to be silly…and the guest of honor gets copies of these memories to treasure! Adding a frame for the pictures also creates a fun party favor.
Trivia
A fun way to kick off the kids cocktail hour and win some prizes is to see how well they know their friend. The event company will give you questions ahead of time, and this game always gives some great images for your photo album.
Kahoot
This game is create for those kids who are all about the technology. It is just like trivia, except kids will use their phones and the Kahoot app to create teams and answer questions. The high score wins a prize!
Bubble Soccer
There are lots of parties that don’t happen in a ballroom. For those unique venues like a field house, bubble soccer has been a front runner for a fun activity for the kids.
Dance or Limbo Contest
The entertainment company does a really good job with this one. The MC will divide the kids into teams and they will face-off, dancing to songs or doing the limbo. The winning team or person is usually given a larger prize.
Scavenger Hunt
This is a classic game that many believe is mundane, but there is a really creative way to change things up and make it interesting. The DJ or MC will line up chairs, enough for all of the kids who want to play. He’ll ask the kids to go and seek out fun things from the event space (i.e. glow sticks, a party favor, a shoe, a watch, an adult drivers license, etc). Chairs will be removed as the children go and hunt for the items in the space. They have to return quickly or they won’t have a place to sit!
PARTY FAVORS
Airbrushed T-Shirts
Having an airbrush artist show up and create personalized t-shirts would be quite exciting. Each guest will not only have a keepsake from the mitzvah, but they will have a one-of-a-kind item they can show off to others.
Caricatures
An artist to draw your guests is a fun way to celebrate that attracts both the kids and adults.
Tattoos
An airbrush or semi-permanent tattoo artist is another fun way to commemorate.
Use these ideas to help create an event your guests will remember for years to come.
