Letters to our Children│February Letter│NJ Family, Child, and Newborn Photographer

Day 53 │Letters to our Children │February

{E}

This is a special blog post for the 365.  I was so excited to be asked by another photographer to take part in a blog circle.  If you don’t know what a blog circle is, well…neither did I.  Every month, each blogger writes a post that links to another blogger in the circle.  The post goes live at the same exact time each month, so the circle is complete and our loyal readers {thanks guys!} can follow along and complete the circle with us.  This particular blog circle chose to take one blog post a month and dedicate it to one of our children in a letter, with images.  My 365 is filled with images of my two munchkins, but I hope to make these posts just a bit different.
Please head over to another awesome photographer’s blog, Kat Onrubia at KCO Photography in Baltimore, to check out her letter here.

Dear E,

As my oldest, you get the first letter.  I spent a bit of time thinking about what I wanted to tell you in this first installment, since its one of many.  What do I want you to know?  What little tidbits do I want to write down for you here, to make sure that as we both get older, you have a written record of thoughts, advice, and most of all, memories.  I decided that this first post I would go all out, and it would be a simple love letter to you.  To my firstborn.  The one who changed {and rocked} my world.  And then we’ll take it from there.

Like all new moms I was nervous, but you were such an easy baby.  You decided in so many ways to take it easy on me, I was so spoiled.  But that doesn’t mean you didn’t have personality…you have that in spades.  You don’t do anything unless you are completely ready to do it…but you put yourself out there, even when you aren’t quite sure what will happen.

You are so smart.  You continually amaze everyone who comes in contact with you.  You study things, you are a quick learner, you love to read, and you stick with something until you figure it out…I don’t think you can help that last part, its in your genes!

That’s not to say we don’t butt heads.  Because we do.  But your expressions make it hard to stay mad for long.  You are always ready to give hugs and kisses.  And boy do you love!  You love Daddy and me, your brother, your family, your kitty cat, your teachers, and your friends. Your default is always to love and help, even when its hard.  You have the sweetest personality of any little girl that I have ever met.

I know it won’t always be sunshine and lollipops.  You are getting older and will start to have experiences outside of our little bubble.  My heart aches for the times that I won’t be able to protect you, but it’s part of growing up.  I look forward to seeing what kind of young lady you will become.  But I’m glad that we have lots of time before that happens…because no matter what goes on during our day, what I say or do, please know that you are a gift that I savor every day.

I am a better person because you are in my life.  I love you, Mommy
