Utilizing the outdoors is a wonderful option for head shots. But short of dragging your entire portrait studio, props, and lighting set up around it can sometimes yield limited options. Often times, I am called to a location where a corporate meeting or conference is taking place, and asked to photograph staff and leadership in this space because everyone will be in town at once. That was the case here. While the grounds were very nice, there were limited areas that I could utilize in order to create some different looks.
I decided on a spot that had some open shade. I knew the light would be changing rapidly while I was shooting, so I aimed to utilize a softbox as my primary light source.
To change up the posing, we used a chair or stool, bench, and tree. The clients were happy and I was thrilled with the results.
