Here is a real shocker for you…sometimes children just don’t cooperate. Despite my best efforts, jokes, funny faces, funny songs, fart noises. Like anything, it is important to roll with it and just keep on keeping on. My kids are no different than yours, and they just don’t want a camera in their face all the time. But I don’t want to miss documenting the moments. I love having these images to look at down the road. So what to do? Just capture them as they are. Pouting? Sure. Hiding? Yep, I’ll find you. Sometimes it is even helpful to get in the image with them, or bring them to a place they love and just observe them being happy. Love it all. It’s their life, and that is what lifestyle photography is all about. Then, get creative with angles and focus to keep it interesting. I did a bunch of free lensed images in March. There is an out of focus one of monkey boy that I love, but I’m sure no one else will, and that is ok. Above all, don’t aim for perfection. Aim for capturing who you love. I love this song lyric from Mumford & Sons…” Where you invest your love, you invest your life.”
Here is what our March looked like.

Whoa! There’s actually ME in this one. And I ♥ it.

Should I even ask what you are hiding from?
