Sometimes, toddlers are the boss. Well, they think they are the boss. But I have learned after many years of photographing families, that if you are patient enough, the smiles always come. Not every child is going to be outgoing, with a smile on their face, ready to be silly with you. Some cling to Mom, or want their binky or lovie, and some just want nothing to do with me. And there are definitely lots of pictures that I end up culling because I thought I had a smile coming, and instead I just got a blank stare. It happens. A lot.
And this session was no exception. Miss {R} woke up from her nap and just really didn’t want to be in a photo shoot….but with a lot of patience, and the willingness to not rush the session – magic happened. And I’m always grateful when it does.
