My Bar/Bat Mitzvah families who have had to alter their plans drastically because of the pandemic really have my heart. All the hard work is not for nothing, but it must be hard to accept when you cannot celebrate the way that you want to – with friends and family and no masks. The big party. The big to do – to celebrate how big of a milestone being called to the Torah is.
This family opted out of the party, and instead had a car parade after their service. I was on hand to do temple portraits in advance of the big day, and then I popped by their house to do a few family pictures prior to coming back for the car parade.
Here are a few of my favorites from our time together – Mazel Tov girls!
