Why You Should Hire An Event Photographer│Top Princeton & Robbinsville NJ Event Photographer

Depending on which stage you are in life, this post might seem kind of, well silly.  If you are newly engaged, getting married, planning a large affair like a bar/bat mitzvah…you aren’t thinking should I hire a photographer, you are thinking who should I hire?  You are starting on the road of finding out which style you like {traditional, documentary, stylized, etc} and finding a photographer that shoots that style.  But what about for those in between moments?  Those events that are also important milestones, such as a baptism, wedding anniversary or a first birthday party?  Should you hire a photographer for those?

Absolutely.

Now, I know what you are thinking.  I’m a photographer, so of course I’m going to say that.  But really, honestly, yes, you should.  Why?  Well, here is my list of why I think event photography is important to a client.

  • First and foremost, you can be present during that special time!  Would a bride and groom take their own photographs during the wedding?  Of course not, they are too busy getting married!  The same goes for your little one’s first birthday.  Hiring a photographer allows you to actually participate in the festivities and be present & in the moment.  Not behind the camera.
  • It can be overwhelming to capture everything.  All those details that you worked so hard to put together.  Party favors, special décor, guest book…these are items that a photographer will not forget to capture.  Those memories will be preserved.  AND as the years go on, your family can appreciate them in a whole new way.
  • Family can actually get in the pictures…together.   Have you ever given your camera to a friend/relative, in the moment to grab a quick updated family photo, only to find out when you looked back that the flash didn’t go off, the picture is out of focus, you are blurry from running back and forth to show them how to use your controls….sound familiar?  Not an issue if you hire someone.
  • Other people’s cameras.  A lot of people think that party guests will have cameras, I can just get copies from them!  I can tell you that those pictures, while wonderful to have, never fully capture the day.  Aunt Gale is taking pictures, don’t worry honey, we got it covered, and then you see them and your mouth is full of food or you are about to sing happy birthday and it looks like you have crazy eyes.  Not the memories most of us want.  An event photographer will be with you in the planning stages to know and understand is important to you.

I’m sure there are more, but these would be my top reasons for hiring a photographer for my event.  Your child will only have 1 first birthday, bar/bat mitzvah, one sweet 16, one baptism.  Celebrating 50 years together, that only happens once.  Click here , here, and here to see some of my favorite events.  Make the most of it, be able to celebrate alongside your family, and know that you will have memories that you will treasure for a long time.  And that your children will have forever.
