I love when a session has no plan. Well, let me re-phrase. I love when the only goal for the session is 1 family picture. The rest? Can take care of itself. And you know what is magical about that? It usually does.
I photograph this family a lot, but don’t let the familiarity fool you. Sometimes, that makes it harder. The kids know me, they just want to play, and all Mom wants is something at the shore, and really just a family picture. One. And it didn’t have to be perfect. It just had to be perfect for them. Which as a photographer basically means to capture them as they are…loving on each other, laughing, and getting the kids personalities to shine through.
The actual night of the session was gorgeous. The waves were mild, the temperature was lovely, the winds were behaving…and Mom and Dad just wanted to let the kids be kids. Which means that they had freedom to run! You know the session is going to special and FUN when Mom packed the bathing suits. So with a little creative framing and a whole lot of silliness, I left the beach sandy and happy – knowing that I had some gems. I was so happy to get home and show who the {T} family are in these images. Enjoy your sneak peek {T}’s…can’t wait for the next one, xo Jen.
