Mitzvahs are wonderful. The celebration of being called to the Torah, the endless planning, the anticipation of the day, the service, and then finally the celebration. It’s a wonderful rite of passage that I absolutely love being a part of, and I’m honored with each family that chooses me to document it. Especially this family. At the end of 2015, we squeezed some formal pictures in for big brother’s special day and I was so happy to be asked back for Miss {A}’s milestone celebration.
The Jewish Center of Princeton is always so welcoming during the rehearsal, and going to Rat’s Restaurant and Grounds for Sculpture was a fun way to commemorate this day! The education center at Grounds for Sculpture put together some fun activities for the kids, including a sculpture hunt and painting in the studio. The adults got a fun experience touring with a docent, and of course you can never go wrong with the food at Rat’s. Two things I learned on this day…sneakers are a must for the hunt because the kids will run literal circles around me {yes, I had heavy gear on but I couldn’t keep up at the end!} and the kitchen at Rat’s is incredible.
Here are some of my very favorites from the day. Of course, there are always so many…so be sure scroll down to the end!
{A} – it was an absolute pleasure to be there to photograph your special day. Thank you so much to the {S} family, I truly appreciate you all. Enjoy your sneak peek. xo, Jen
